Cosmetic active ingredients and products are developed for a variety of applications and claims. From well-aging, anti-pollution, skin and hair care to sun protection, the field of applications for cosmetic products and their ingredients is vast. Even if the function of many ingredients and cosmetic formulations is known, it often remains unknown how a newly developed product will affect the skin.
In our 30-minute presentation, we will take you on a journey into the world of electron microscopy and show you which effects of your product on and in the skin can be answered with the help of microscopy. You will receive the following information
- What happens to my product on the skin?
- Do the particles, lamellar or non-lamellar structures of my product penetrate the skin?
- What influence does my product have on the stratum corneum and the other skin layers?
- Does my product strengthen, repair or protect the epidermal skin barrier? Does my product lead to an increased content of lipids in the stratum corneum?
- How does my product change the skin? Are more or fewer proteins such as hyaluronic acid, filaggrin, loricrin detectable after product application?
- Can more desmosomes, mitochondria, collagens and a stronger collagen network be detected?
